ANT 602 - Integrated Anatomical Sciences IICOM2026 only Course Description: Students will study the detailed structure and organization of the thorax (chest) and abdomen focused on the heart and vascular system, pulmonary system, and gastrointestinal system. The heart and vascular system including the development, neural control, and histological features of the heart and blood vessels throughout the body. The pulmonary system includes the trachea, larynx, lungs, and the structures that subserve respiration and speech. The gastrointestinal system includes the oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, intestines, and associated organs that subserve eating, digestion, and elimination. These systems are studied from an integrated anatomical approach using virtual dissection, clinical imaging, virtual microscopy, and practical exercises. Credits: 4 |
