MEDE 705 - Endocrine SystemCourse Description: In this second-year level systems course, students will acquire knowledge and understanding of the foundational sciences in medicine, including anatomy, embryology, physiology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and pathology of the Endocrine System. The patient presentation model will guide students in making connections between the structural and functional foundations of health and wellness. Students will examine the differences between health and disease, symptoms, and causative or diagnostic schema of the Endocrine System, all within the framework of osteopathic medicine. This course will prepare students to apply their understanding of biomedical sciences to make informative deductions about the diagnosis and treatment of common or life-threatening disorders of the endocrine system, as well as their systemic complications.
