FMED 905e - Rural/Underserved Primary Care(e)Course Description: The Rural and Underserved Primary Care elective offers medical students a unique opportunity to explore the challenges and rewards of providing healthcare in rural and underserved communities. This rotation emphasizes the principles of primary care, community health, and the social determinants of health that impact these populations. Students will engage in direct patient care, participate in community outreach programs, and observe the integration of public health initiatives in primary care settings. Through hands-on experiences, case discussions, and collaboration with healthcare professionals, students will develop the skills necessary to deliver effective and compassionate care in diverse environments.
