Course Description: The Transition to Residency (TTR) Course is a mandatory capstone experience designed to prepare graduating KHSU-KansasCOM students for the transition from medical school to residency. Through a combination of hands-on training, simulation-based learning, small group workshops, and expert-led discussions, this course provides critical preparation for the challenges of residency.

Students will be grouped by their anticipated specialty to ensure focused, specialty-specific training. Throughout the week, students will engage in simulation sessions covering high-yield clinical scenarios,
hands-on procedural skills training, and workshops focused on effective communication and documentation. The course also includes lectures on key residency topics such as radiology, surgery, and on-call responsibilities, as well as small group projects to foster teamwork and peer collaboration. Additionally, students will participate in panel discussions and plenary sessions with experienced physicians and residents, offering valuable insights into the realities of residency life.
