Course Description: Foundations of Health and Disease is an intensive, trans-disciplinary course that integrates principles of human anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, genetics, pathology, pharmacology, and nutrition to build a comprehensive understanding of the biomedical basis of human health. Using a mechanistic approach, this course explores how processes occurring at the molecular and cellular levels drive systemic, whole-body function and examines how disruptions in these processes contribute to dysfunction and disease.
